Current Rate Schedule for Food and Lodging (effective June 1, 2009)

I. Food Service, Per Person / Per Meal

The food rates listed below are for planning purposes only and are subject to change without notice.

Notes:

• Lunch or Dinner Cookout– No additional fee. Cookouts are available May 1-Sept. 30. Only one cookout per group.
• Youth Meals are served family style - groups must set tables before meals, bring food to tables and clear food and dishes after meals.
• Adult Group meals may be served cafeteria style, if requested and a youth group is not present.
• Hot coffee and tea are included for adults from 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
• Snacks or beverages are available upon request at $0.50, $0.70, $0.90 each.
• Food service is only provided for a minimum of 20 participants.

II. Lodging Fees

A. Overnight Accommodations - including teaching naturalists

• Group size dictates how many teaching staff are available for group.
  
  • 1 - 59 individuals (youth + adults) = up to two staff
  • 60 or more individuals (youth + adults) = three staff
  • Additional staff may be used at a rate of $100/staff/half day (if available)
  • There is no reduction in fee if the group decides to use less staff then allocated to them
• Discount of (20%) off overnight bill for non-peak season (December 1  – February 28)

 

School Groups & Outside Organizations

Notes:

• All adults with Youth Groups pay the Youth Group Rates for lodging, programs & food service.
• Dormitory - with linen option, includes use of two sheets, one pillowcase, one towel, one washcloth, one pillow and one wool blanket (except in summer) per person.

B. Overnight Accommodations - Without the use of teaching naturalists (Use of Facility ONLY)

• Group would be assigned a liaison that would take care of check-in/out, meals, and Upham rules presentation.
• Discount of (20%) off overnight bill for non-peak season (December 1 – February 28)

School Groups & Outside Organizations

III. Day Use (applies only if group is not paying a lodging fee)

A. With Programming (Including Teaching Staff)

• Group size dictates how many teaching staff are available for group
• 1 - 59 individuals (youth + adults) = up to two staff
• 60 or more individuals (youth + adults) = three staff
• Additional staff may be used at a rate of $100/staff/half day (if available)
• There is no reduction in fee if the group decides to use less staff then allocated to them
• Full Day (4 – 10 hours) and Half Day (1 – 4 hours) programming available
• School Groups & Outside Organizations: Full Day - $15.50/person; Half Day - $8.00/person
• UW-Extension Affiliated Groups: Full Day - $13.50/person; Half Day - $7.00/person

B. No Programming, Only Facility/Equipment Use

• Rental of Entire Facility: $750 (Outside organizations); $3/person suggested donation (UWEX Affiliated Groups)
• Single Room Rentals (all free for UWEX Affiliated Groups)

• Lodge: $150 full day/$100 half day (4 hours or less)
• All other individual room rentals: $75 full day/$50 half day

• Room rental prices do not include set-up & clean-up
• If desired, room set-up & clean-up: $100/room
• Free WiFi accessible in lodge

IV. Outpost Trips

• Outpost options are described in the “adventure education” section of the website.
• Standard Outpost experiences (in or out of camp) will follow the same pricing structure as the “overnight accommodations with teaching staff.”
• Equipment and canoe transport is provided for all groups.  A $30/night/group fee (increased from $20) is charged to offset the costs of the equipment.  If a group wishes to only use staff, but NO equipment, they do not have to pay this fee.
• Maximum group size is 20 for Wisconsin River trips and 30 for State Park trips.
• Packed meal ingredients are available at the same rate as in camp dining.  Group is responsible for preparing meal with the help of the Upham staff person
• One staff member is provided for each group for the entire time of their trip

V. Rustic Camping

• This option is only available for groups who also have a group occupying the cabins/dorms during their stay.
• No equipment or staff is available to these groups.  If the group wishes to use equipment or staff at anytime during their visit, they must pay the published Outpost fees
• Groups are responsible for cleaning the rustic campsite and bathhouse prior to their departure.
• Dining hall food service is available for the group at the regular prices.
• The primary designated camping site and campfire ring is on top of cabin hill. A secondary site is also located behind the nature center.
• Groups do not have access to classrooms or equipment.  They are permitted to use the bathhouse and dining hall (if they are utilizing food service).
• Fees:
• UWEX Affiliated Groups –  $5/person/night
• School Groups & Outside Organizations -- $7/person/night
• If a group wishes to use staff at some point during their stay, they may at the prices listed in the “III. Day Use” section.  Use of staff allows access to classrooms and equipment (such as canoes).
