Upham Woods Volunteer Day – Saturday, May 9, 2009
Enjoy a beautiful day in woods while giving back to your favorite 4-H Outdoor Learning Center—Upham Woods! The staff has planned a magnificent day of fun, friendship, and good ol’ fashion, feel-good work for any and all willing volunteers. There will be multiple work projects to choose from—trail reconstruction on Blackhawk Island, new trail creation on our “sand spit” area, cabin/building clean-up, wood splitting & stacking, litter pick-up, garlic mustard removal, possible building projects and probably much more! The day will begin at 10 am and end at 4 pm with a 12:00 noon cook-out lunch by the river. You are welcome to come for the entire or part of the day. You can do the same project the entire time or float between different projects if you like. All ages welcome! If you plan to come, please RSVP to Doris at Upham Woods (608-254-6461 or doris.bass@ces.uwex.edu) so that we can plan staffing, equipment, and lunch. Please let Doris know approximately how much of the day you are planning to attend and if you have any special dietary needs for lunch. Thank you in advance for your help—it will help us get ready to provide all of our 4-H groups a wonderful summer camping season!
