Procedure for Reserving Dates

Dates for bringing a group to Upham Woods are usually reserved 6-12 months prior to a visit. Upham Woods mails an application to past Fall/Winter/Spring users in February to reserve dates for the following Fall, Winter and Spring. These application forms are due back by a specific March deadline. Upham Woods makes an effort to honor all requests received by the March deadline. Groups will be notified of their Fall, Winter and/or Spring dates as soon as possible after the March deadline.

Summer dates from the middle of June through the middle of August are set aside for 4-H county summer camps. These applications are mailed to past Upham Woods 4-H summer camp counties in August or September to reserve dates for the following Summer. These applications forms are due back by a specific Fall deadline. A 4-H Agent-led committee assigns future 4-H summer camp dates. Counties are notified of their future summer dates at or before the Fall 4-H Guest meeting.

Reserving the Same Time Period Again Next Year

Beginning in the fall of 2006, Upham Woods began offering visiting groups the option of reserving the same time period for their next year's visit. Groups simply need to notify Upham Woods within one week from the time they depart that they would like reserve the same time period next year. We will transfer the groups deposit from the current year to hold next years dates. Groups electing not to use this new method may still reserve future dates by using the traditional methods.

Reserving Dates on a Space Available Basis

After groups have reserved dates using the procedure descriped above, open dates can be reserved on a space available basis. Use the following calendar to determine what dates are "OPEN" to schedule a group visit to Upham Woods. Dates that are "Full" already have a large group or multiple groups and are not available to schedule a visit. Dates that are "Possible" have either a small group, a group that is departing that morning or a group that is arriving in the afternoon or evening. Dates listed as "Training" and "Closed" are not available to schedule a visit.

You can download an application below or you can request an application form be mailed to you. A completed application form and a deposit of $100 per night stayed or $50 per day visit is required to hold dates.
