Description
The Computers Project is a statewide 4-H project. It has three
levels. Each level features curriculum that will guide you through
the project. For a copy contact your County 4-H Office or order
online at: Extension
Publications.
Computers 1
This revised project is designed for beginners with little or no experience who want to know how computers work. Get introduced to computer hardware, components, software, programs, applications, and other features through an interactive Internet site.

Computers 2
In this revised intermediate project, build and repair computers, identify components inside a computer, enhance connectivity potential, and explore how components work together. Maintain peripherals, upgrade and create connections, install operating systems, and create a “dream machine.” The CD included with this guide provides hands-on practice with an operating system.

Computers Project Training
Many counties hold local training for members and leaders in
their favorite project areas, including computers. Watch your county
4-H Family newsletter or contact your county Extension office for
details.
Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference
If you're in grades 8-10, check out the next Wisconsin 4-H
and Youth Conference, scheduled each June at the UW-Madison campus.
The conference offers educational seminars in most areas of 4-H,
including computers. Contact your county Extension office for details.
If you're in grades 9-12, apply for the conference Wisconsin 4-H
Tech Team. This team of 8-10
youth and advisors develops the conference web site each year and
helps teach technical seminars.

County Fair
The county fair . . . what a great time it is! Every summer, families
flock to county fairs to see the latest 4-H project exhibits. Exhibiting
is a fun and educational way for youth to showcase their project
work to judges and to the public.
Judging materials are supported by Bill Shaw in memory of his wife, Shirley.
