Animal Sciences

Animal Sciences

This 4-H program allows Wisconsin youth to explore the world of animal sciences. 4-H youth learn about animal science ethics, specialized dog training, food safety, consumer satisfaction, and more. Exciting events and activities in the animal sciences program include various workshops, teams that participate in national events, Livestock Judging Camp, State 4-H Meats Evaluation Contest, etc.

 

Your Donation Could Support:

  • Area Animal Science Days - Helps to provide recognition and cover some expenses at four venues focused on displaying Animal Sciences projects and related educational events.
  • Animal Science Volunteer Expenses
  • Dog Project Workshop - To provide an opportunity for participants to further develop skills with a specialized trainer.
  • Sending an Egg Demonstrator to a National Event
  • Ethics in Animal Science - Purchase resources to help teach character and ethics about animals to youth.
  • Horse Project Workshop - Provide a keynote speaker at the Horse Project Adult and Youth Leader Training.
  • Livestock and Meats Judging Materials
  • Livestock Judging Camp & Judges Training
  • Meat Animal Quality Assurance (MAQA) - Teaches youth about food safety and consumer satisfaction while raising 4-H/FFA animal science projects.
  • State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest & Livestock Quiz Bowl
  • State 4-H Meats Evaluation Contest & Training
  • Teams to National Events - Helps to offset costs for youth who have been asked to represent Wisconsin at national events.

Cultural Arts & Communication

Arts & Communication

The Cultural Arts and Communication Program helps Wisconsin youth learn the tools they need to channel creativity into the cultural arts. They receive hands on experience in photography, theater, and many other artistic and cultural mediums.

  • 4-H Arts Camp Staff Training
  • Learning materials for 4-H Cultural Arts and Communications participants
  • Photo, Art, Drama, and Communication Committee Meetings
  • State Arts Teams Mini-Grant Program - To help provide partial assistance to individuals for registration fees.

Dairy Fund

Dairy Fund

Through the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation, statewide youth can gain useful and interesting insight into the dairy industry. The 4-H dairy program includes the opportunity for youth to attend Badger Dairy Camp and compete in the World Dairy Expo Dairy Bowl or the Wisconsin 4-H Dairy Bowl.

 

Your Donation Could Support:

  • Badger Dairy Camp - To help offset youth costs to attend the Badger Dairy Camp.
  • Dairy Cattle "Judging Made Easy" CD - To help offset the costs to create this CD to be used statewide.
  • State Fair Dairy Survey
  • National 4-H Dairy Conference - Help to offset registration fees for youth to participate in dairy workshops and tour dairy companies at this conference held in Madison.
  • World Dairy Expo Dairy Bowl Teams - To help offset the costs of two teams to compete at the World Dairy Expo in Madison.
  • Wisconsin 4-H Dairy Bowl - To offset the costs for youth to attend the competition sponsored by the Dairy Fund.

Family, Home, & Health and Education Technology

Family

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation emphasizes the importance of a strong family and home life. This program focuses on home, family, and the use of technology in health and education. 4-H provides family, home, and health strategic planning and after school programs for youth.

The 4-H Foundation in general is about supporting the future leaders of tomorrow. Youth can get involved in a wide variety of leadership training, team activities, and competitions such as the 4-H Democracy Team.

Plant & Soil Sciences

In this program, 4-H youth can learn about a variety plant and soil sciences including corn, forage, small grains, fruits, vegetables, flowers, home grounds, etc. They also have the opportunity to compete in the NJHA National Competition and the 4-H Plant Science Day.

Volunteer Leadership

The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation relies on its dedicated and ambitious volunteers to carry out the values of the institution. Volunteers go through training programs to build their leadership skills, communication skills, and their character.
