Guidelines for Dog Agility Programs -
These Guidelines will be used at the State 4-H Dog Agility Event. These are suggested guidelines for counties to use in their own programs. However, as in other projects, counties have the right to design their own programs. These guidelines will be used at the State Traiings. Updates were made after the 2008 workshops according to suggestions made by the participants of the January Agility Workshop - Thanks to the participants for your suggestions.

Measuring your Dog for Agility (video clip) - This video clip demonstrates how to correctly measure your dog for agility obstacles. Thanks to the LaCrosse Family Dog Center for making the clip. We truly appreciate your willingness to help us with our Agility Education. The equipment used in the video may be purchased at many pet equipment stores. As is the practice of the 4-H program, this video is not an endorsement of any one retailer for this equipment.

21 counties represented by 73 youth with 79 dogs and did 140 runs!

Thanks to Outagamie County for hosting a Great Workshop

Outagamie County hosted 4-H Dog Project Training Workshop in November of 2008. It was a huge success.  Eighty-five youth and adults from Douglas to Kenosha, Vernon to Manitowoc attended. It included Obedience and Showmanship and ws held at the Winnegamie Dog Club.

2009 State 4-H Dog Show Guidelines and Rules/Registration Booklet

Be sure to join us!

Jefferson County is offering the opportunity for 4-H members to design the State 4-H Dog Show Logo. 

Entries should be submitted to:  
Michele Zimmerman, 1041 Boughton Street ,Watertown, WI  53094

Each entry should have the name, address, email address and county written on the back. 
Entries can be either hand drawn or computer generated.  Please keep in mind that they must reproduce well on clothing and printed material.

Entry deadline is Friday March 13, 2009.

Once submitted, entries become property of the Jefferson County 4-H Dog committee.

The artist of the selected entry will be awarded a sweatshirt with the logo.
