State 4-H Plant Science Day

A fun way to learn about Horticulture Science!!!

July 8, 2008, Hancock Agricultural Research Station, Hancock, WI

Plan now to be part of the State 4-H Plant Science Day to be held July 8 at the Hancock Research Station in south-central Wisconsin. Youth in grades 3-13 can test their knowledge about plants while learning how to judge and identify a wide variety of plant specimens. Youth can also compete in photography and speaking contests. See the Horticulture Contest Study Manual (2002) which is available from your County Extension Office or online from the National Junior Horticultural Association (NJHA.org).   For more details call Chuck Prissel at 715-485-8600.

The contest for participants will be held in the morning, and the afternoon will provide educational tours and workshops for all. Come learn how to identify trees and shrubs or how to design a prize winning floral arrangement. Tours of the research station and its production will also be available.

The event begins with registration at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. Registration is $10.00, which includes all materials, handouts, and lunch. Walk-ins are welcome but pre-registration is preferred for lunch and material count. Send no money now, but fill out the registration form below and mail to:
